MALAYSIA NEED TO REPENT

Dear Friends and Partners in the Kingdom of God ,
I believe just as many other nations; Malaysia too needs to repent of sins against God and mankind.

The nation of Malaysia -need to repent and not justify.

Some sins -idolatry [materialism …]
-racialism
-prejudice and favouritism
-exploitation
-corruption
-mismanagement of finances
-Instead of repenting and asking for forgiveness -justifying themselves [pride]

These are some of the sins we can see and feel angry about.

What about the sins of the church? Do we see it? We can see the sin of the nation so clearly but have we seen our own sins and dealt with it.

-idolatry [materialism …]
-racialism
-prejudice and favouritism
-exploitation
-corruption
-mismanagement of finances
-Instead of repenting and asking for forgiveness -justifying ourselves [pride]

I remember speaking a message of correction to a church and at the end of the message one of the church’s leaders came out and justified before the people instead of asking God to show where they have gone wrong and to ask God for forgiveness. Today that leader cannot speak.

We can see the strong under current in this nation.
What about the church? Can we see the strong under current in the church?

Matthew 7:3-5 (NKJV)
3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

How can we help others if we do not remove the plank from our own eyes? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. [Jesus said].

We lose our authority to correct others if we are committing the same sins.

Observe what God spoke through His servants in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Jeremiah 5:3-4(NKJV)
3 O LORD, are not Your eyes on the truth?
You have stricken them,
But they have not grieved;
You have consumed them,
But they have refused to receive correction.
They have made their faces harder than rock;
They have refused to return.
4 Therefore I said, “Surely these are poor.
They are foolish;
For they do not know the way of the LORD,
The judgment of their God.

1 Peter 4:17 (NKJV)
17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

In the Old Testament and in the New Testament judgment of God came upon His house first and then to the rest of the nations.

Let the church of Jesus Christ repent and show fruit of repentance.

Have mercy upon us O God our God. We have sinned against you. We have spoken all the right things but we have not done the right things. Even if we do it we do it with bad motives O God. Please forgive us and fill us with the Holy Spirit and enable us to live and serve like your Son Jesus. Amen.

3RD BURN AGAIN CONFERENCE

3RD BURN AGAIN CONFERENCE,  PENANG MALAYSIA
Copthorne Orchid Hotel, Tanjung Bunga – April 9 & 10, 2008

Dear Friends
God has stirred our hearts in this Year of the Olympics to host the 3rd “Burn Again Conference” here in our beautiful island of Penang , Malaysia on 9th & 10th of April, 2008.

The choice of dates is to link your visit & participation to another conference (The Eagles Leadership Conference) happening in our Island on the 11th & 12th of April. It’s exciting that you will be able to plug into the Ministry of the Word and the Spirit in these two conferences.

As in the two previous Burn Again Conferences, we are seeking to encourage especially the “hidden“ servants of God who are serving tirelessly in difficult places or obscure yet vital roles. In 1996, after our first year of pioneering Marketplace Penang , we were doubtful as to the effectiveness of our emerging ministry. But the Lord encouraged us in a dream saying: “You are not in little league. You are in big league.”

We believe in God’s economy, the ministry of the “hidden” servants of God is very significant and a potential powerhouse to winning souls and making disciples for Christ our Lord. We invite your kind recommendation to link us to one or two such brethren to join in this season of refreshing at the feet of the Jesus our Lord.

The Burn Again Conference will be a simple gathering guided by these core ministry values:
Targeting Ministers who lack support & networking
Leading & Teaching by Ordinary Ministers who are enjoying God’s extraordinariness
Minimal Organization with Maximum Participation

SPEAKER: REGGIE LEE
Affected severely by the financial “tsunami” of 1997, Pr Reggie has experienced God’s miraculous financial provision & vocational transformation. From operating several restaurants in Penang, God brought him to London in 2003 where he now works as a consultant to a chain of Asian restaurants. Reggie has written several exciting books viz. “Porridge for the Believers”, “ America in Prophecy” and “Higher Ground.” He is a licensed preacher in UK and teaches at the Luton branch of the South London Bible College . Pr Reggie has proposed the theme for this year’s conference: “New Wine & New Wineskins.” With his dear wife, Ann, they have brought up three beautiful daughters, Shasha, Lu-Ann, & Sarah.

SPEAKER: SAM SURENDRAN
Pr Sam completed two degrees at one-go during his studies in Texas , USA . Upon his return to Penang, he taught at KDU College and pioneered Excel Point Community Centre which is currently one of fastest growing churches in Penang . Despite the hectic pace as Senior Pastor of a multi-congregation church, Pr Sam has not abandoned his passion for mission and the mentoring of leaders. He leads his church to invest heavily in the building up of pastors in many nations around our region. Pr Sam shares the ministry with his lovely wife, Susie and their two children, Jeremy & Ashley.

PSALMIST & SPEAKER: FERNANDO BRITO
Pr Fernando was a professional Oboe player in the Portuguese Military Symphonic Orchestra for 20 years with the rank of sergeant major. He first came to Malaysia with Portuguese Evangelist, Luis Cabral during the tsunami days of 2004. He was back again twice in 2006. In 2007 God placed on him an urgency to bring his wife, Sonia & their 2 kids, Gabriel and Gabriella to Malaysia . They have chosen Penang as their ministry base. Pr Fernando believes God has called him to stir His people into majestic worship & intimacy with God.

PR CHRISTOPHER KRISHNA is a former Malaysian Karate champion. He has now taken the fight of faith into the nations of the world viz Thailand , Indonesia , India , NZ  and England . For some his strong uncompromising prophetic ministry has been tough to follow and swallow! He is totally sold out to the Word of God and is moved by the Book
not the cheque book! His mission is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable! There is never a dull moment when he preaches. Pr Chris travels often with his dear wife, Vijaya. They have one daughter, Dama.

We believe God will add to the conference His other choice servants. Pray with us to be surprised by God. Enter the “red-hot” arena” of God’s dealings with these servants of God! For those who are coming from our neighboring nations, we are trusting God for His provision to assist some with partial travel subsidy. If you or someone you know can help in this sponsorship, please read the Registration Form (see below) for details. Thank you for your kind partnership in this faith venture.

(S)UPPER ROOM

(S)Upper Room

Reading: Psalm 19
"Man shall not live by bread alone,
But by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Mt 4:4)

Fasting is not dispensational. It's a spiritual discipline for all times. That's why Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount said, "WHEN you fast" and not "IF you fast!" (Mt 6: 16). This Sermon is not a dispensational lecture of Christ. Rather it is the Magna Charta for Christian living. Jesus called fasting an "act of righteousness" along with giving and praying (6:1, 2, 5, and 16). We are not saved "by" works of righteousness but definitely "for" works of righteousness (Eph 2:9, 10).
The Pharisees tithed and we teach tithing as the minimum for Christians. And they fasted twice a week (Lk 18:12). What shall be our practice? Neither tithing nor fasting is explicitly commanded in the New Testament, but who can deny their need and relevance today? These are days when what's obligatory becomes optional. That which is optional may soon become obsolete! Let's apply brakes.
There are no strict rules and regulations as to how often and how long we should fast. We are to study the Bible examples and decide for ourselves according to our desire and needs. Let's aim high!
Jesus fasted for 40 days before He began his 40 months' ministry (Lk 4:1, 2). The very first recorded temptation from the devil was concerning food (v 4). He answered the devil that He was actually feasting on the Word of God while fasting from food. Man fell at his very first temptation — to eat! (Gen 3:11). He continues to fall primarily in that area! Gluttony is a sin we seldom talk about.
We knew why Esau failed. He preferred the broth to the birthright (Gen 25:29-34; Heb 12:16). And for the people of Israel, it was "the fish, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions and the garlic" which prompted them to remember Egypt (Num 11:4, 5). But Job testified, "I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food" (Job 23:12).
It is evident that the early Church held fasting as a regular practice. And for special functions they had special fasting. See for example, how the first missionaries were sent by the Church. "Then, having fasted and prayed and laid hands on them, they sent them away" (Acts 13:3). There was fasting before that also and it was in that prepared atmosphere the Holy Spirit sounded the missionary call (v 2). Let's come back to the foundations of the apostles and prophets. Let fasting be restored both to the pulpit and the pew. We need the upper room fire, not the supper room smoke!

ZOE MINISTRIES

ZOE MINISTRIES

God’s life through His Word and His Spirit

Eph 4:12-13
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
NKJV

The word “ZOE” is used in the New Testament of life as a principle, life in the absolute sense, life as God has it, that which the Father has in Himself, and which He gave to the incarnate Son to have in Himself, John 5:26, (For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself) and which the Son manifested in the world, 1 John 1:2 (“The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the father and has appeared to us.”)
Before Christopher came to know Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, he was a qualified Karate and Kickboxing Instructor. He was the Malaysian Karate Champion in 1977 & 1978, represented Malaysia in the World Karate Tournament in Tokyo, Japan in 1979. He was trained and brought up in the Hindu faith. He came to know the Lord in 1983 after he came back from a tournament held in Hong Kong, in which he could have lost his life, he has since renounced his involvement with martial arts.
Pastor Christopher has served the Lord full-time for over more than 20 years, helping to pastor a number of churches both in Penang and the main land Malaysia. He was born again in a Baptist Church and was a pastor in a Baptist Church. Graduated from the Baptist Theological Seminary. Led by the Lord he pioneered a Tamil Church in Penang. He ministers both in English and Tamil. The Lord has blessed Christopher with a prophetic, teaching and equipping the body of Christ.
He travels wherever the Lord leads him to, and he speaks whatever the Lord calls him to. He ministers in India, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Russia, England and New Zealand.
Christopher is married to Vijaya and they both have a daughter Sarah Dama. Their hearts cry is to know Him and to make Him known to the world.

Jer 1:9-10
Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me:
"Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant." NKJV

Signs of the Times

Signs of the Times

How do you feel about your net worth? If you are an investor in the stock market, you may not be feeling well. Over the past few weeks, the market for publicly traded securities has declined dramatically. Using the Dow Industrial Average as a measure of the market, this Average has lost all the gains that it made during the past eleven months. This event has been widely covered in the media, which arguably has added to the selling frenzy.
Clearly for some time there has been concern about the future of the US economy. Some would posit that the genesis of this concern was the crisis in the mortgage industry, which came to light in the summer of last year (2007). The impact of this debacle on the US economy played out through the fall and perhaps was most fully revealed in the fourth quarter retail sales.
It is well known that the retail industry's strongest sales period each year is the Christmas season. This year the American public was not feeling as jolly as usual, which resulted in significantly lower fourth quarter retail sales.
A recent Wall Street Journal article reported: "The retail industry appears to be skidding toward its first big wreck in 17 years. Chains are slamming the brakes on store openings, cutting back on inventory and girding for leaner times as consumer spending chills. The speed with which sales slowed during the holidays caught even cautious retailers off guard, prompting a flurry of profit warnings." ("Retailers Sink Into the Doldrums," by Gary McWiliams and Amy Merrick, Wall Street Journal Online, January 18, 2008; page B1)
The New Year dawned with considerable skepticism about the health of the US economy. This concern was not confined to US investors. Investors worldwide have been concerned for some time, as evidenced by the decline in the dollar relative to other currencies. Since all major central banks have adopted a fiat money system, which means paper currency cannot be converted into coinage or specie of equivalent value, the value of different currencies relative to each other is largely based on confidence. This confidence is heavily influenced by supply and demand. Therefore with increasing doubt about the strength of the US economy, foreign investors are reticent to own dollar denominated investments.
Furthermore, since the US is the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world, when investors lose confidence in the US economy, they also tend to lose confidence in the other economies of the world. To use a medical metaphor, when the US economy catches a cold, the world economy catches the flu. Given these factors, it is not surprising that the US stock market is experiencing a minor meltdown.
The meltdown is saying that the average publicly traded company is not as valuable today as it was a month or so ago. Unlike privately held companies that are generally valued based on historical performance, publicly traded companies tend to be valued based on expectations of future performance. Hence, when the future begins to look bleak, investors lose confidence and discount the value of the companies.
This begs the question about what to do.
If you are a Buffet fan, you know he believes that the stock market always overreacts. This implies that the market is probably oversold. If so, this would be a buying opportunity.
On the other hand, maybe Buffet is wrong. Perhaps the market is reflecting reality. Could the US economy—largely built on public and private debt, consumer spending, and a fiat money system—be revealing its fragile nature? Could a thirty-year history of annual negative trade balance finally be exacting its pound of flesh from the US economy?
Since the inception of Keynesian economics in the 1930s, it has been widely assumed that deficit spending, deficit trade balances, and fiat money systems are acceptable economic practices.
These assumptions are 'signs of the times'. I am reminded of Jesus's comment to the Pharisees, who were the leaders of their day. Jesus pointed out that their ability to read the 'signs of the times' was limited. They could see some of the simple signs in the tangible world, but couldn't see the most significant signs, which were largely in the intangible world. Note Matthew 16:1–3 :
The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. He replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,' and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times." (NIV)
Jesus told the Pharisees that the only sign from heaven would be the sign of Jonah, which was a reference to His death and resurrection. This event is the most significant event in human history. Jesus's dialogue with the Pharisees was intended to communicate that they would not understand the significance of this sign.
Regarding today's market meltdown, the pundits are busy providing their opinions about the significance of the sign. Most likely they will miss the real meaning because they are focused only on the tangible world, as were the religious leaders of Jesus's day. The common assumption today is that business exists in a closed system. This means everything that happens can be explained by natural causes, which means that God is not involved in His creation—at least when it comes to business.
Is this true? The Israelites discovered that God was very involved in their business activities; hence, they did not view business as a closed system (see Deut. 28 ). If God is unchangeable (see Mal. 3:6 ), then what was true of Israel is true today. Business does not occur in a closed system; therefore, we must make allowance for divine intervention in our understanding of business.
It is recorded in Israel 's history that the men of Issachar understood the 'signs of the times' and knew what Israel should do (see 1 Chron. 12:32 ). These were people who saw the hand of God in the events of their day and perceived a wise course of action. Where are these people today? Where are the modern-day men of Issachar who can see where the commonly accepted economic policies of today are leading us?
Because we Christians generally think like the world—that is with a non-biblical worldview—we wrongly assume that business happens in a closed system, we are not looking for the signs of God's direction and intervention. If we are not looking for God's hand, we probably won't see it. Therefore, most Christians are not able to see beyond the tangible world and therefore live based on pseudo wisdom.
If God created the universe and is actively involved in His universe, then the only wisdom that matters is His wisdom—there is no other true wisdom. One of our greatest sources of His wisdom is the Bible. The Bible reveals that obedience to God brings economic blessings and disobedience to God brings calamity (see Deut. 28 ).
Given that we are currently experiencing calamity, what should our response be? If the men of Issachar were here today, what would they see? Perhaps they would recognize that business is built on the assumption of a closed system, which is a false philosophy. So I suspect that the modern-day men of Issachar would call out for repentance from this false doctrine about business. Undoubtedly they would commend us to a biblical philosophy of business built on the reality that business happens in an open system in which God responds to man's alignment with His plans and purposes. They would probably point to Scripture such as Matthew 6:33 :
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)
This text clearly gives man his marching orders. Unlike the common view today that business is about money, Jesus tells us here that life, including business and investing, is about the kingdom of God . And when we put the kingdom first in our lives, God will provide for our needs, which means that money should be a secondary motive in business.
Applying this biblical perspective to the current market situation, what are the 'signs of the times'?
Perhaps God is signaling His displeasure with the false doctrine of debt-based Keynesian economics that is driving both private and public money management decisions. And perhaps we should be convicted of the fallacy of our fiat money system and the need to work toward a trade balance.
In place of these false doctrines that are ubiquitous in business, we need to adopt a biblical economic model that begins first with the understanding that God created and, therefore, owns everything. Furthermore, because He created and owns everything, He makes the rules for how life, including business and investing, are to operate. And He has specifically told us in Scripture that He blesses obedience to His philosophy, values, and principles, and that He judges disobedience. This revelation opens the door for us to begin to see the 'signs of the times', which paves the way for lasting economic blessing.

THE HOUSE OF GLORY

The House of Glory

by Francis Frangipane

When Glory Filled the TempleThe dedication of Solomon's temple offers us a picture of what God is seeking in the church. The temple was built, and in great pageantry and celebration, it was consecrated to the Lord. Solomon offered a sacrifice of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. Then, immediately after the king prayed, for the first time in over 400 years, the glory of God was manifested in full view of the people. We read, "Fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house" ( 2 Chron. 7:1 ).
If the Lord would honor the dedication of the physical temple with a visible manifestation of His glory, how much more does He seek to reveal His glorious presence in His living temple, the church?
But there were prerequisites that occurred prior to this appearance of the Lord. First, it was not until Solomon's temple was actually built, with all its separate aspects connected together and covered in gold, that the glory of the Lord appeared.
Likewise, we also must be built together and "perfected in unity" if we would see the fullness of the Lord displayed among us and the world believe in Christ ( John 17:23 ). There is no other aspect of life more glorious or wonderful than this.
The next requirement deals with our worship. The Lord was not revealed until the singers, trumpeters and priests lifted their voices in praise and worship to God. We cannot overstate the need to be worshipers of God. Even now, in a number of church worship services, a faint, luminous glory is appearing, like a living cloud, drawn by the purity of the ascending worship.
However, there was another dimension of preparation which also preceded the revelation of glory. This prerequisite had to do with those in leadership.
"And when the priests came forth from the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard to divisions)...then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God" ( 2 Chron. 5:11-14 ).
Their divisions in the priesthood had been ordained by God according to individual families and unique purposes. These were not carnal divisions, born of jealousy or strife, but divisions of purpose, function and timing. Yet, when the priests entered the holy place, God required they "sanctified themselves without regard to divisions" (vs 11). In other words, when it came to building the temple and entering the holy place, the priests had to lower the priority of individual service, which in a sense divided them, and raise the priority of seeking God's glory, which united them. It was here, when they were "without . . divisions" that the glory of God manifested.
So also today, God has appointed churches in each city with different functions, graces and talents, all of which are needed to meet the needs of a diverse surrounding culture. These differences, however, are not meant to divide us, but to complete us. But if we desire to see the glory of God return to the church, the divisions of purpose must be subordinate to the unity of Spirit.
Today, in meetings, conferences and prayer groups, in one-on-one visits over coffee, and in church altars and citywide outreaches, increasing numbers of Christians are returning to Christ "without regard to divisions." Indeed, over the last years, tens of thousands of God-hungry pastors are surrendering to God in fresh acts of holy consecration; they are seeking the glory of God. The outcome? The church is being "fitted together...growing into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom [we] also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit" ( Eph. 2:21-22 ).
Notice these words: "fitted together...built together." The true house of the Lord is revealed when the church, "without regard to divisions" is "fitted together." Only then can the church truly be unveiled as the temple of the Lord, "a dwelling of God in the Spirit."
The Source Of Glory"And the glory which Thou hast given Me I have given to them; that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected into a unit" ( John 17:22-23 margin).Jesus is not coming to give us a new form of church government or new doctrines and programs. He is coming to be glorified in His saints and marveled at by all who have believed! ( 2 Thess. 1:10 ). It was for this that He called us; that we may gain His glory! ( 2 Thess. 2:14 ).
Let us each see that God is building something in this hour that will far exceed our current definition of the church. God is building us together into "a holy temple in the Lord," a place where His very glory shall be revealed!
Consider the words of the following prayer. It is our response to the Lord's call to build His house. God is calling us, not to lose our individual distinctions and callings, but to build something that fits us together, enabling us to build without regard to divisions.
If you see the vision of the house of the Lord, please pray with us...
Lord Jesus, I thank You for granting me a new opportunity to serve You. I repent of the areas in my heart where I allowed division and self-interest to guide my actions. Jesus, I want to see Your glory, even to abide as did Moses, in Your sacred presence. Master, I consecrate my heart without regard to divisions, to Your sacred service. Before You I sanctify my life and my church to build the house of the Lord in my city. Amen.

He Guards The paths of Justice

He guards the paths of justice [zoe ministries]
Dear Friends and Partners in the Kingdom of God ministries,
We praise God for His wisdom and understanding. His ways are so different.

Proverbs 2:8 (NKJV) He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.

This 2008 is so different though we are prepared to flow together with HIM. As the Lord shared with me about focusing more on mentoring and also gathering the 5 fold ministers to talk with each other and work together.

First half of the year we will be making 2 trips [one to Indonesia and another to the Philippines ] for just meeting with some pastors and their families to encourage them and strengthen them for the coming challenges ahead and to be focused on what God would have us do.

Please pray together with us as we teach and train and mentor leaders that the Word of God and the Power of God will flow and refresh and strengthen pastors and church leaders.

WHAT IS CHURCH ???

“What is The Church?”
By Tom Sparks

The Church is a people, not a place.
The Church is a living being, not a building.
The Church is founded on Christ, not man.
The Church is a Bride, not a business.
The Church is a relational community, not a programed event.
The Church is about Jesus, not centered in man.
The Church is called to reveal Jesus, not the will of man.
The Church is universal.
The Church is local.
The Church is a place to come to learn of Christ.
The Church is the pillar and ground of the truth.
The Church is a revelatory environment.
The Church is a participatory experience.
The Church is Jesus’ Church.
The Church is under grace, not law.
The Church is free, not bound.
The Church is alive, not dead.
The Church is about Jesus, not money or man’s traditions.
The Church is His body, not our place of legacy.
The Church is for His glory, not the development of our significance.
The Church is secure in Him, not in numbers, resources, or bank account.
The Church’s leadership is based in Jesus’ headship, not man’s hierarchy.
The Church’s leadership is servant based, not user oriented.
The Church’s leadership is gentle, not harsh.
The Church’s leadership is example oriented, not control oriented.
The Church’s leadership is overseeing, not domineering.
The Church’s leadership is about giving, not demanding.
The Church’s leadership reflects Jesus, not personal aspiration.

Is this the Church and Leadership you know?
